This policy explains what information the Android and iOS app Jigsaw Puzzles: RePiece (“RePiece”, “the app”, “we”) handles, why, and the choices you have. RePiece is made by Mitul Parmar, an independent developer.
At a glance
1. Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally on your device. It is not sent to us, and we have no server that receives it:
- Game progress: journey level, solved puzzles, stars, best and last times, puzzles in progress, daily streak, XP and level.
- Hint allowance (the weekly free hints) and settings such as vibration.
- Puzzles you create from your own photos, including a resized copy of the photo, its title and piece count.
- Pictures from the puzzle catalogue that have already been downloaded, so they work offline.
You can delete a photo puzzle at any time from Profile → My photos, clear all progress with Profile → Reset progress, or remove everything by uninstalling the app.
2. Photos and camera
If you choose to make a puzzle from your own photo, the app asks for access to your photo library or camera. It only reads the photo you pick or take, makes a resized copy on your device for the puzzle, and keeps it there. Photos are never uploaded, shared or used for any other purpose. You can refuse or withdraw this permission in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working. The app does not use the microphone.
3. Puzzle pictures
The catalogue’s pictures are public-domain or CC0 images loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons and NASA. When the app downloads a picture, your device connects to their servers, which receive the technical information any web request carries (such as your IP address and the app’s name and version). They handle it under their own policies: the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy and the NASA Privacy Policy. No information about you or your game is sent with these requests.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
RePiece is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC: banner ads on the browsing screens, full-screen ads between puzzles and when returning to the app, optional rewarded ads (for example to get a hint or see the picture), and sponsored cards in picture lists.
To serve, limit, measure and prevent fraud in these ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information from your device, including:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (Android) / IDFA (iOS, only if you allow tracking) | Advertising, including personalised ads where permitted; frequency capping; measurement |
| IP address and approximate location derived from it | Choosing relevant, legally permitted ads; fraud prevention |
| Device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version) | Showing ads that fit your device; diagnostics |
| Ad interactions (views, taps, rewarded ads completed) | Measuring ads, rewarding you, fraud prevention |
This information goes to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your ad choices
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads.
- iOS: the app asks before tracking; you can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: before any personalised ads are shown, the app asks for your consent through Google’s consent form, and you can change your choice later from the app.
- You will still see ads if you opt out of personalisation, but they will be less relevant.
5. What we do not do
- We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or precise location.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run our own analytics or crash-reporting service, and we have no server that stores data about you.
6. Children
RePiece is a family-friendly puzzle game, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
7. Security and retention
Information stored by the app stays on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Information collected by Google for advertising is kept according to Google’s policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold personal information about you on any server, most requests are handled directly on your device (see sections 1 and 4) or by Google for advertising data. You can also contact us and we will help.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
